After the big holiday rush with the photo business, I've really been enjoying spending more time with the creative side of photography these days. And although this blog is almost 100% (ok, probably really is 100%) full of photoshoots I've done of other families, I have taken the camera to my own family and explored studio photography. Of course, I had to just lay out a white blanket and use one of our white walls as the backgrounds, but I have gotten pretty addicted to the amount of control you can have with setting your own lighting and doing everything in the comfort of my own home! Even though nothing can come close the gorgeous look of nature and the warmth of the sun, there's definitely a little bit of studio photographer in me. And I thought I'd let her come out and play for a bit ;-)
(my talented Mother behind the lens ~pictures of her after these~, posing and editing by me. Oh, and my Mom did my hair. I could NEVER get it to look that good on my own.)
I LOVE this shot of Zach. It is 100% HIM. Golf polo, destroyed denim jeans, cowboy boots, and a handsome smile.
And now a few that I took of my Mommy-dear. She makes the perfect model. For obvious reasons ;-)
Honestly, how many Moms out there rock the leather jacket, skinny jeans, and riding boots?
We call this one the "Estee Lauder" shot ;-):
So fun! Thanks, Mom and Zach for indulging me. It was really freeing to be able to completely 'create' with these shoots. A break from the norm is always refreshing!
