For this session, I met up with Paige and Andrew on his Mom's land in the Texas Hill Country. Paige said she wanted a country feel for her pictures since they got married in Austin, they both went to UT, and she wore her boots with her wedding dress (a girl after my own heart ;-) so we had emailed back and forth quite a bit trying to find the perfect location. Then Paige remembered Andrew's Mom's land and when she texted me the pictures from her phone my little heart jumped. It seriously couldn't have been a better spot!

Paige and I actually used to work together, and about 2 years ago she asked me to photograph their engagements & wedding. I was so new as a photographer, I said yes to the engagements but didn't feel comfortable shooting her entire wedding. Well, 2 years later, she asked me if I would take some bridals and I was THRILLED! It means SO much to me to have a good friend ask me to take her pictures, and especially to come back and have me take them again!

Paige is such a classy, smart, beautiful person. Her session was the last one I did before we left for Washington and she graciously gave me the sweetest present to say goodbye and also as a congratulations for having my son. She had ordered a child's size desert boot for Mac that is the EXACT same boot Zach wears with his Army uniform. But the best part was that it was purchased through The Boot Campaign which is a charity that provides support for wounded American veterans. One of the absolute sweetest and most thoughtful gifts I've ever received!

Thanks for everything Paige and Andrew! I hope you LOVE your pictures!

Kelly is the perfect mix of gorgeous, funny, and smart. She just graduated from TCU and needed some pictures for her announcement. We met up at one of my favorite locations with LOTS of colors to match all of the outfits she brought to try! :-) I am always okay with as many outfit changes as we want... I mean, a girl's gotta have options! And her proud boyfriend & Mom tagged along AND were okay with jumping in the shots!

The best part about shooting Kelly's pictures? When I told her I was backing up to get a more wide open shot so she needed to do something to stand-out, she busted out her awesome cheerleader skills like a CHAMP! Never a dull moment with this girl :-)

Congratulations Kelly, and enjoy!

I decided to finally take my son for an outdoor photoshoot for his 9-month pictures. He learned how to sit up (but can't crawl yet, so he stays put!) so I could plop him in, on, or around anything I wanted! Maaaybe I went a little overboard with the props & outfit changes, but that's to be expected for a photographer's son, right??

This last one I wanted a storybook feel... Mac LOVES reading books with his Dad, especially cowboy books. And thank you Mr. Sun and little weed in the foreground for being so perfectly placed.

I had the distinct privilege of photographing ANOTHER photog last week! It was intimidating, scary, fun, and surprisingly therapeutic! :-) It's honestly SO refreshing to talk to someone who speaks your same language about something you are so passionate about.Sam is probably the cutest little thing I've ever met. She is definitely the sweetest. She is all of 5 feet tall and carries around her little step stool to get the shots she needs. I still chuckle thinking about how cute she was. And her photographs are b.eau.ti.ful! The images she took of my little family, which will be up on the blog shortly, are just perfection!!I only took a few shots of Sam for her website, she wanted some headshots, and I KNOW how difficult it can be to actually get some shots of yourself when the camera is always pointed in the opposite direction... Hope you like 'em, Sam!
